I've debated posting a review, because I try to support writers when I can. However, this is without a doubt one of the worst books I've ever read, and I read multiple books a week! The author abruptly intersperses historical context (in italics) throughout the story in the beginning, shifts focus from one sentence to the other, etc. making the story extremely difficult to follow.
The writing is stilted at best, and the sexual aspects are gratuitous and very "dirty" (trust me, I'm no prude, but really). At the end, I thought the author was starting a new book. She abruptly shifts from one story to an entirely different one. It's not a preview of the next book, either.
